Roller blinds can be fitted either inside the window recess (fixing on the glass beads or frame) or outside the window recess (fixing on the wall or ceiling). For these different situations, measurements should be taken using different guidelines. It is important that the measurements of roller blinds be accurate; otherwise, the roller blind may be too narrow to cover the whole window, allowing some light. When roller blinds are fitted on glass beads of a window, the measurements should be very precise, to make the fitting easier. If roller blinds are to be installed over an operable window, make sure that the fabric and mechanism of the blind will not hinder the opening of the window. Roller Blind Measuring Step by Step

Roller blinds can be cassette or classic, they can be fitted on glass beading, wall, or ceiling. In each case, different measurements are necessary. This is an instruction of how to measure roller blinds of cassette type, to be fitted on the glass beads of a window (this is the type of roller blinds offered in the price calculator). All measurements should be given in millimetres.
1. Measure the height of roller blinds. Take the outside edges of the window glass beads as your reference points. Measurements should be taken three times: on the left side, in the centre and on the right side. The smallest of the three measurements is registered.
2. Measure the width of roller blinds. Take the outside edges of the window glass beads as your reference points. Measurements should be taken three times: at the top, central part and at the bottom. The smallest of the three measurements is registered.
3. Measure the height and width of the window glass. These measurements will be necessary later, when choosing the size of fabric to be used for roller blinds. The size of the fabric will correspond to the size of the glass.
